HRCI Congratulates James Lewis, Chair of ISO Technical Committee 260, on ANSI Award

The HRCI team extends heartfelt congratulations to James (Jim) Lewis, SPHR, GPHR, President of J. Lewis Consulting Group, LLC and Chair of ISO Technical Committee 260, on his recent ANSI Award. Lewis previously served as Board Chair and Board Member at HRCI.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) celebrated Lewis and the other recipients of its 2022 Leadership and Service Awards during a ceremony at World Standards Week in Washington, D.C., on October 12, 2022. Per ANSI, Lewis and his fellow recipients were “recognized for their significant contributions to national and international standardization activities, as well as an ongoing commitment to their industry, the nation and the enhancement of the global voluntary consensus standards system.”

Lewis took home a Meritorious Service Award. This category celebrates his contributions to the U.S. voluntary standardization system and outstanding service to ANSI in support of the organization’s founding objectives. Lewis is the Global Chair of the ISO Technical Committee 260, the world’s developer of standards for the field of Human Resource Management. Over 65 nations are participants and observers in the TC 260 standards development process, including ANSI, the U.S. member body. ANSI appointed HRCI as the International Secretariat for the ISO TC 260.

HRCI CEO Amy Dufrane, Ed.D., SPHR, CAE, commented, “The ISO TC 260 is responsible for creating standards for the human resources profession that get adopted at a global level. Jim Lewis plays an integral role in that process, providing guidance and leadership as we develop additional standards and advance excellence in HR management. Jim’s award is well-deserved, and on behalf of HRCI, I want to congratulate him on this recognition.”
